Cooper Landing is located at the head waters of the world renowned Kenai River, a location that is often taken for granted. The 300 residents that call Cooper Landing home and the thousands of summer visitors that come each year are surrounded by the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, Chugach National Forest, and the Alaska State Parks. This is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state. These areas range from boreal forests to high mountain peaks and provide habitat for over 1,800 animals, including 150 bird species. This event will serve as a reminder for why these landscapes should be protected. We hope that everyone will walk away with a new perspective and an appreciation for the ecosystems surrounding them.
